sixth; [visual]; LOCKED TO THOSE HE KNOWS KNOW ABOUT HIS GIFT
When the tablet comes on, it comes on to show Toby looking a bit uneasy and tired.
"Hey," he begins, looking like he's thinking about how to word what he's going to say. "Listen... not that there's any doubt that these new people aren't normal, but it might be good to know... they don't have a single thought in their heads. None, it's like... there's just nothing. I mean, this has happened before, but this... this is different. You know, with some people it's a brick wall, but with these guys it's like an empty hole or a blank space."
He sighs, unsettled.
"I don't know about you guys, but I'm beyond creeped out by now."
((ooc: FEARLESS LEADERS, I ASSUMED THIS FROM OUR CONVERSATION. If I screwed up, break glass for mallet, use at will.))

"You have no idea. Have you tried talking to them, or have you just been overhearing white noise?"
no subject
Erf. Okay. Meanwhile...
"I've talked to 'em a few times. I don't know, man, I've had this my whole life, so I know when things aren't right when I'm around people, talk to them. And this is just... completely weird."
no subject
"Yeah, I get it. Something's off with these people. I'm betting it's something like the glitch-crap that keeps happening. I mean, if this place can turn people into little kids and robots, why couldn't just make some fake people and throw them in the city?" Dean pauses, shifting. "It's too big of a coincidence."
no subject
He pauses. Smirks teasingly. "And I hope it's not contagious. Lemme know if you start feeling... I don't know, empty-headed." This look? Is the unspoken 'more than usual'.
no subject
Also, Dean does not approve of that insinuation.
"Hey. Don't make me come over there and kick your ass. It's not like you'd be hard to find," Dean answers, but he's rolling his eyes. All part of the banter.
no subject
"You talk to Sam lately?"
no subject
"Yeah. Last time we talked he was in a good mood. Like, really good mood. Don't know if he got into a secret stash of crack or something--" Pause. "... Hey, Toby, you think the hatches would spawn crack?"
Out of curiosity, he swears.
no subject
"I haven't really thought about it..."
no subject
"Huh. Something to think about," Dean shrugs, grinning. "You can't tell me you haven't messed around with the hatches. S'the first thing I did when I realized what they were."
no subject
He shrugs.
no subject
"Charlie's alright?"
no subject
"What -- no, yeah, she's fine. That was a couple months ago, back with that... vampire thing. Yeah. She's fine."
no subject
Pause. "Not to mention some of the people who just got here."
Aw,
Chucksomebody hurt Dean's feelings.no subject
"Oh yeah? Like who?"
no subject
no subject
"Oh, was he the, uh - 'I'm going to destroy you socially' guy?"
no subject
Also, points, Toby, for getting who Dean was talking about right off the bat.
no subject
"I didn't get to talk to him. Seems... uh. Interesting."
no subject
"He called me a dumbass." In so many words. Dean's summarizing.
no subject
"I'm so sorry."
no subject
"Oh, shut up."
