07 [Visual and Physical Location: Central | Open] A new house, a new start and breakfast
Moving multiple times in a short period of time is not something that Madelyne is happy about but, at the same time, she now has a house. She has a house of her own and so far she is still finding all of the things she loves about it. It isn't something she's ever really thought about having or doing. Owning a house seemed far too normal for the life she had been living back home and she feels that way, somewhat, here as well. Living in Sanctuary, however, was something like living in a hotel.
This morning, she's made breakfast. She's made far more breakfast than she's going to be able to eat alone. It is even possible that she's made more breakfast than she and Scott can eat, though waffles and pancakes and such things can be frozen for days where she isn't feeling anywhere near as industrious. This morning, though, she's out on her porch swing with plate of pancakes, her tea service and a few other odds and ends. Knees pulled up on the swing with her, she watches the steam curl off the surface of her cup of tea in the early morning light.

He settles into a chair he's dragged out there for watching the garden. "You realise that that's enough to feed Bobby and Hank for breakfast?"

Madelyne has been out here in quiet contemplation for awhile. Probably after he left for his run but it doesn't seem as though she slept at all last night. Sometimes she'll do that when she's been thinking hard about things since she gained her powers. It seems like there is an element of risk in possibly harming others when she can't stop thinking.
As she sips her tea, though, she seems to finally be slowing down.

"Then I started cooking. The first batch of pancakes could be used to play hockey."

"That successful huh? Maybe we can keep them to defend ourselves from the next invasion of midget hamsters."

Sometimes it is the small things.

"Part of my brain is convinced I'm on mission."

"Sanctuary was like a hotel, without the parts that I like." Silence holds for a moment before she adds, "Do you want to add or change any of the rooms?"
She was idly thinking that she'd be happy to let him do whatever he wanted to the basement.

And because it vanished into thin air now.
"Not that I can think of. Why, were you thinking of doing something?"
no subject
She's pretty sure he can do it for a long, long time but forever is longer than that.
"No, I didn't have anything but I didn't know if you'd want to put in something. A library or a training room or .... something."

He sips his tea slowly. He's not a big fan, but it's warm and here. "I'll probably end up filling the downstairs spare room with books. Or my bedroom." He loves books. Always has.

"I was thinking about opening an air strip."
She'll get back to that 'three years' thing later on.
no subject
Scott gives her a long look, clearly not following for a moment. "An air strip."
no subject
Pressing her lips together, she ducks her head for a moment, taking a sip from the cup of tea. "An air strip, where I could provide flights to those who might be interested in viewing the city."

Her ducked head creates a small shield of hair between herself and Scott, as if, for some reason, she might be uncertain about this choice for some reason.

It isn't like she's going to take out a small business loan or something similar.

Lifting her head, she pushes the hair out of her face, back over her shoulder. "I appreciate that. I'll let you know if we come to that." In other words, if I can't find any other solution, I might end up asking you.

"I'm almost hesitant to plan too much. This place feels like everything might fall apart any moment."

It would be easy to just fall into old habits and patterns, which is a part of why she didn't sleep last night. It is a ridiculous thing that would never happen but she kept thinking she'd go to sleep in the wrong room.
