07 [Visual and Physical Location: Central | Open] A new house, a new start and breakfast
Moving multiple times in a short period of time is not something that Madelyne is happy about but, at the same time, she now has a house. She has a house of her own and so far she is still finding all of the things she loves about it. It isn't something she's ever really thought about having or doing. Owning a house seemed far too normal for the life she had been living back home and she feels that way, somewhat, here as well. Living in Sanctuary, however, was something like living in a hotel.
This morning, she's made breakfast. She's made far more breakfast than she's going to be able to eat alone. It is even possible that she's made more breakfast than she and Scott can eat, though waffles and pancakes and such things can be frozen for days where she isn't feeling anywhere near as industrious. This morning, though, she's out on her porch swing with plate of pancakes, her tea service and a few other odds and ends. Knees pulled up on the swing with her, she watches the steam curl off the surface of her cup of tea in the early morning light.

It would be easy to just fall into old habits and patterns, which is a part of why she didn't sleep last night. It is a ridiculous thing that would never happen but she kept thinking she'd go to sleep in the wrong room.

A laugh bubbles up, "I never thought this could happen, for instance, this casual conversation on the porch."

Shaking her head, she is doing her best to keep herself to herself at the best of times and living with Scott, she's tightened her shields as much as possible. That said, she's not perfect.
"It would be nice, though, if I didn't have to listen to the Extras in the background all the time."

"Have you ever caught snippets of the conversation between background actors in party scenes in a movie? How they make sense until you actually start to think about them?" The red head smiles a little bit at her ex-husband, "Having that run through the back of my head at all times is ... distracting."

"At least you could move out of the range. Go to the forest if you need a break."

Finishing her cup of tea, she nods at that, mulling over what to say in response. "Sometimes the silence can be just as bad but, yes, it is helpful."

"There were days where I would just take long walks and explore, until walking became too much of a hassle."

"You made me pie." It was not the best pie but that didn't matter at all.

Her eyes focus on him again before she starts chuckling, "Okay, it was ... not good... but I would have eaten the whole thing anyway."

"Well, if you ever have the desire to bake again for someone, let me know. I'll help."

"Some times. Some times very much but I have made some good friends."
