006: [Location: Hyperion Hotel] Like the Prom, Only with Legal Alcohol Supply

Party time!

Cordelia, clad in her chosen outfit for the night, made final rounds inside the hotel to make sure everything was perfect. The decorations were subdued and classy - thanks to both Dawn and Fred, and even the garden was opened so that those who wished to step out and inhale the fake Taxon air could do so. There were tons of wine, beer, scotch, vodka - and if Doyle's selections weren't enough, there's a hatch conveniently behind the refreshments table.

The hotel lobby was cleared of all the furniture, so that the mingling and the dancing could take place more comfortably. If people wanted to take a tour of the hotel, they were welcomed to do so save for three rooms: Fred's, Angel's, and Wesley's office. For not-so-obvious-but-quite-sentimental reasons.

[OOC: This party takes place after the Liar Liar glitch took effect. Mingle! Threadjack! Interrupt! Have fun!]

Doyle figured he should try to act host-like, now that he was here. He had had a hand in the planning, however insignificant the alcohol supply might be considered. Speaking of, hanging back in a fellow usually meant he needed a drink or two. "Welcome, man. Drinks are over there if you're interested. "

"If I'm interested?" Crichton raises his eyebrows with a smirk. "That's like asking a guy if he's ever seen Baywatch."

He's still chucking those references out there, just to see how people respond. "You want me to get you one too? You're looking a bit empty handed there bud."

"Not every fella's seen Baywatch, man. I only caught a few, here and there. I was busy." Doing what he doesn't elaborate and quickly changes topic. "I'm in charge of distribution, like. I figure I can save my own drinking until later when everybody's been pointed in the right direction."

"It's an important job," he nods, amused - half mistrusting the rejection, but it's no more likely the drinks here have some mind altering substance in them than the food and drink the hatches provide. He skirted the Baywatch thing quite successfully though.

"So is it just you and.. is it Cordelia, hosting?"

"Just Cordelia, officially. But since I'm here and helped with the planning a bit, I should help with the hosting too, is my thinking."

Doyle nodded over at the bar. "I stocked it with everything I could think of so you've got your pick, like." Crichton will find it's mostly European brands, as Doyle isn't overly fond of American alcohol.

"Handy thing those hatches," Crichton smirks, wandering over to take a looksee. The diversity of choice, and all Earth drinks, impresses him.

"Pretty cool job you did dude." He says, returning with a good old fashioned beer -- beer that he's missed, big time. The way he inspects the bottle admiringly after taking a swig is evidence of that.

"I'm Crichton. John Crichton" Yes, introductions might be good Crichton, even if the beer is damned good.

"I think I'd trade them for a familiar city, but they are handy." Doyle grins. "And I'm glad you like the selection. I'm Doyle."

"Hell, I'm just grateful for something that's at least pretending to be home, Doyle." Crichton offers dryly, that ever present amusement in his smirk not fading though.

In truth, he'd trade this charade just to be back on Moya, but there's no harm in enjoying the 'Earthness' of Taxon until he can find a way back to his friends.

"I admit to being grateful it's not a hell dimension, but I miss home." Not that he'll admit that he's dead there. It's not something to share with strangers.

"There's always that too," he nods in only slightly sarcastic concession, it's light-hearted though.

"Guess those aren't exactly a pool party. Unless the devil really does look like Elizabeth Hurley."
