Party time!

Cordelia, clad in her chosen outfit for the night, made final rounds inside the hotel to make sure everything was perfect. The decorations were subdued and classy - thanks to both Dawn and Fred, and even the garden was opened so that those who wished to step out and inhale the fake Taxon air could do so. There were tons of wine, beer, scotch, vodka - and if Doyle's selections weren't enough, there's a hatch conveniently behind the refreshments table.

The hotel lobby was cleared of all the furniture, so that the mingling and the dancing could take place more comfortably. If people wanted to take a tour of the hotel, they were welcomed to do so save for three rooms: Fred's, Angel's, and Wesley's office. For not-so-obvious-but-quite-sentimental reasons.

He's still completely oblivious to the fact that he was tricked with the cunning use of reverse psychology into adorning the penguin suit to this function. Best to let him believe what he wants for the time being.

Not really one for these types of parties -- his own definition of party was somewhat different with more alcohol and no dress code -- he stands near the stairs, hands in his pockets, observing. He'll mingle, just give him a moment to spot a familiar face or find a place to jump in...unless someone wants to approach him first.

Doyle came rushing down the stairs, one misstep from falling down them really. He'd been trying to button his jacket on the way down but had given up so it was flying open and revealing a deep maroon waistcoat. But undone buttons aside, the tux was in perfect condition. "I'm not late, am I? I hope I'm not late."

Don't let it be said that Dexter doesn't clean up well (http://i27.tinypic.com/63yq6v.jpg), even though his snazziness is accessorised by a look of discomfort. He has no problem socialising, really. Bring it on! But he's cursed with feeling like a total dork in every kind of un-him clothing ever, so don't worry when he walks in looking kind of shifty and unconsciously adjusting his glasses a little too often.

Oh god. There's barely anyone here. Jeez, Dexter, nobody ever shows up to parties on time except you.

"Hey!" Cordelia greets, and she will be totally grabbing Dexter's arm to usher him further into the hotel. "Told you you'll look divine in a tux."

The Hyperion was Fred's home, her place of safety, she should be more comfortable here than anywhere else in Taxon. Which was totally why she was actually in the same room as many people...even if she was hovering near the entrance to Wesley's office, intent on slipping inside at a moments notice to safely hide away from everything.

But she was trying, at least! And she looked rather pretty, really. Thanks to Cordy's help her hair was up, she had make-up on, and a pretty dress that matched her slightly mousy features. But none of that was makingh er socialize. She'd smile nervously if people looked at her but...that was really about it.

Dawn really did intend to get there early. She did. But there are certain issues with... punctuality, finding her shoes when they're hiding under the bed, the sort. So she's what might be described as fashionably late, in the end.

...Also just fashionable. The hatches: good for cheeseburgers and kettlecorn, better for amazing dresses and shoes.

He might have only chatted to a handful of people when he first arrived, but John's already scoped out the tablets and he found the backdated entry where the party had been mentioned.

He wasn't entirely convinced this whole Taxon thing still wasn't all some kind of engineered ruse to catch him out somehow. But a party meant people, and whether these people were friend or foe - he still needed to mingle to find anything out.

He'll try and hang back initially, see who's who and just observe, not that it will last very long probably.

Oh hey, a newcomer! Cordelia approaches the door with a very welcoming smile. Gatecrashers are accepted, as long as they have that thing on their wrist.

So, Faith really didn't intend on showing up to this thing. She was going to stay home, get drunk, maybe troll Dean and mock him going. But here she is regardless, in her usual leather and denim; okay, she's here, like hell is she conceding to the formal dress code bullshit. Anyone who bitches will be told to suck it up, it was this or bareass naked. (Protip: If anyone wanted to somehow force and/or bully her into a newly hatched dress? It would be lulzy and fully supported.)

She'll just be hanging around the edges of the party, drinking a beer and hoping to stay out of trouble. And away from Giles, not that she's running away from a freaking Watcher. Oh no, she's just... doing something that looks a whole lot like running away but isn't. Yes.

He's wearing sunglasses but takes them off as he enters the lobby, taking a long look before nodding his approval at the poshness of the place and the well stocked bar. Not bad, even if the fact that this was Angel's place gives him a few jaw tensing moments.

But he didn't promise he'd be all proper about it. His shirt's partially unbuttoned and his tie's undone, though to his credit, he did tuck in his dress shirt.

He gets there, not early but not late, either. Like Kirk, his idea of a party was definitely with much more booze and much less schmooze, but he'll deal with it for now if it means he gets to see some of the chicks in dresses.

For now, he'll sulk, leaning against the wall and folding his arms, waiting for more people to get here.

Sheppard pulled the doors open of the hotel. It was hard to contain the excitement at the idea of a party. Not just any party, but what he classified as a "Bond Party." Dressing up in a tux (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v443/morjana/joe/1vesawards.jpg) and being clean shaven, seeing the nice ladies dressed up, probably a little poker on the side. Poker. There was going to be poker, right?

It quickly bumped up in his priority lists. Find champagne, find poker. If there was no poker? Well then. He'd start his own table up.

Check out your favorite leather girl, dressed in nice, long white, complete with silk white gloves to match. LISA's on and fired up, but she decided to go with the back up. And, look! Not a scrap of leather to be seen. Confused? Gwen's all about defying expectations (or fulfilling them to an extreme, in some cases). You expect scanty leather? You get classic dress. It's her way of keeping things interesting.

She might try to sneak around a bit...Try to check out the areas of the hotel she'd never been acquainted with. That'll come later, when undoubtedly alcohol blinds the eyes and attentions of everyone in the room. For now? She mingles, strolls, looks around for a friendly face. Have a go at her. She's not interested in stealing anything off you, she promises.

When 'shopping' with Cordelia, Charlotte had to fight her normal inclination to pick the sexiest thing she could find. Her usual style was high glamor, a little severe, and dark colors. She'd be with John, though, who was only a little severe. She wanted him to be comfortable so she picked a simpler dress that she knew she could move in.

She didn't have the same concerns about pleasing and entertaining people that she'd had at their party. Instead she wanted to have a good time, to dance with John and maybe a few others, and drink a lot of champagne. As they entered, she put her arm through John's. "Promise me the last dance?"

John, in a simple black tuxedo, put his hand on hers on his arm and nodded. "The last dance and the first one." He gave her a kiss on the cheek, even as he was still wondering how she'd talked him into this.

Finally.

At some indefinite point earlier in the day, she and Dawn went dress hatching. (Without Simon, as older siblings, especially of the boy sort, tend to veto all the best choices. He was left with a cryptic comment about bad planets, not watching her change, and how he should be punctual so wear a watch.) The result is... Not as bad as it could've been, honestly, which will probably be of no comfort to Simon. At all.

The dress is pink and shortish, all swirly gathered fabric on bottom and less (just... less) on top. Obviously, Dawn's influence is cause to worry for Simon's cardiovascular health. There are even heels, though tiny. It was a compromise. As for makeup, there's very little, though that mostly has to do with River's inability to sit still and not flinch with someone doing things to her face. That entire part of the process was disturbing, but the hair-brushing was a treat.

Now, however!

Here she is, Taxon, looking like a pretty girl and bubbling over with excited smiling.

Have a Vala who's turned up very late, like a couple of hours later late. So she's made a few mistakes in the last few days, and there are more than a few people that probably hate her now - but in typical Vala style - she's brazening it out and being -- well just being Vala.

After deliberating on coming armed, which isn't easy in a dress, she opted for just a small handgun in her purse. Better to be prepared, prepared also involved a 'few' bourbons before she even arrived.

Cassie had cursed and grumbled and wished Cordelia Chase lots of pain in the time she was getting ready for the party. She had a knife strapped to her, high on her thigh, feeling naked without some sort of weapon. Following the directions on the tablet, Cassie arrived at the Hyperion, feeling like a fish out of water. Unnatural in her own skin. She'd never been so dressed up for anything in her life. She watched the other mingle, fearing that if they came close enough, they could hear her heart trying to beat its way out of her chest.

Why he'd never picked up a new pair was beyond him. One day he'd amend that at one of the Hatches -- and a pair of leather trousers besides. But for now, Jack was content in his usual garb, clad with his greatcoat, he headed into the party.

Maybe attending a party right after she'd arrived wasn't the best idea, but Uhura had decided to welcome the opportunity to blow off some steam. Getting abducted to an odd planet and having a bracelet grafted onto your skin was pretty stressful, after all.

So after figuring out how the replicators (maybe that wasn't their official name, but that was what she was calling them since they reminded her of the ones at home) worked, she'd gotten herself a dress (http://www.zoe-saldana.net/photos/displayimage.php?album=170&pos=99) and arrived at the party a little while after it started.

She hung in the back for a little while, observing. She really only knew Kirk and Sheppard (Kirk she'd seen, she didn't know whether or not Sheppard was here - and she'd also talked to Sylar, but she'd have preferred to avoid him), so she wasn't sure who to talk to first.
