"-- smelled like bacon --"
When Tiberius' taller-than-Shane body disappears from in front of him, replaced by the sheen of a metallic wall, Shane's animated conversation about something apparently smelling like bacon stops right then and there. Stunned, he freezes, looking somewhat comical with both of his hands raised -- and then he turns around, suddenly on the defencive, looking everywhere he possibly can in the small room.
Not good. Not good. Not good. "Ty?" With his head ducked a little, he's almost like a threatened animal. "Ty, where are you?"
Nothing. Shane is ready to pounce the first person who shows their face.
"Okay, Kanye." Defencive, but still expressive as hell. It's hiding the fact that he's slowly getting scared by reality of this interruption. "You better put me back before you find out what a mistake this is." ... Still nothing. And that's when Shane notices the door... as well as the device on the pedestal. He approaches neither in favour of making one last attempt:
"I mean it, you want somebody taller!"
... Shane shifts his weight, then picks up the device without immediately looking at it. Instead he looks at the walls around him again, suddenly feeling very nervous, and says quietly, more like a thought than anything: "Levi?"

"It was humans and vampires, partying together," Levi replies, tilting his head back to look up at the sky. As much as he's disliking the walking thing right now, he does miss clouds and the sky sometimes. "And no, I'm afraid the people here aren't as... fierce, as the ones back home. There was quite a lot of dancing and flirting, though I don't think it was anything close to the level of... mm, adult content we've had in previous parties."
The mansion's in their line of vision, now, and Levi's relieved.

Shane snorts a little. Fierce. That's definitely the right word for them... but something is nagging at him for obvious reasons.
"Humans and vamps in the basement together and nobody got jumped or staked? Is this real life?"
no subject
Conviniently, that's when they pass a hatch. Levi pauses their walk, and gestures to it. "That's a hatch. If you place your hand on it, it gives you whatever you can think of."
Then, for a more hands-on approach, Levi heads over to the hatch, places his hand on the pad, and summons two glasses of blood, one type A, the other type O, and brings them back to Shane. "See?" Levi hums, offering the glass of A.

"So does that mean we can't hunt anymore?" He's all for survival, of course, but... that sounds kind of boring.

As he speaks, his arm slips around Shane's waist, needing to be touching again.
no subject
"Any other important warnings?"
no subject
"Yes. If someone by the name of Severus Snape attempts to contact you, do not answer. Don't speak to him. He's dangerous," Levi replies, holding Shane a little more tightly. The idea of Shane being burned like the way Levi had been makes Levi irrationally furious, and he's trying not to think of it.

"Is he the one who attacked you?"
no subject
"Yes. He is. He is somehow able to summon sunlight and shine it out of his hands. I have the feeling that if he'd been at full strength, I would be a pile of dust." Levi explains quietly, throwing his arm over his eyes.

Gently, he leans over a bit, reaching to move Levi's arm away from his eyes... and looks at them, unwavering, for a moment, before smiling faintly and kissing him.
Honestly, Levi needs to smile more. They're both here now, together, and at the moment, some crazy guy with sunlight powers doesn't matter.

He feels Shane flop down next to him, but he doesn't move his arm away. He's burning with guilt, and it hurts almost as much as the sunlight had. The fact that Shane is the same as he always is, moving Levi's arm and kissing him-- it makes something inside him ache.
Levi leans into the kiss, slipping a hand into Shane's hair and gripping it slightly as a sudden rush of emotion flows through him. He needs Shane right now, selfishness be damned.
no subject
He shifts, taking Levi's face in both his hands, not breaking the kiss.
no subject
When Shane takes his face in his hands, Levi's grip on Shane's hair tightens, and he can feel the guilt forming into tears behind his eyes, the sweetness of the gesture getting to him. He presses harder into the kiss, a little more desperate.
no subject
Shane pulls away - not much, but just enough that their noses are barely touching - without moving his hands, looking at the older vampire, worry written all over his face. Should he ask? Should he leave it? He doesn't know what to do. But this sadness... he wants to fix it.

"I have to tell you something," Levi nearly whispers.
no subject
"I'm listening."

"The party last night," Levi begins, taking a deep breath. "I wasn't thinking straight, I'd been alone for a month... It is absolutely no excuse for my actions, but..."
Levi keeps his gaze on Shane, ready to punish himself by watching Shane's face at the news. "I kissed someone else at midnight."
no subject
"Okay," he says quietly.
no subject
"I'm sorry," Levi says softy, simply. "I love you."
no subject
"I love you too."
no subject
"I would... I would never do anything to hurt you, Shane," Levi breathes, voice cracking. "Not purposely. I can't stand to see that, I just... I..."

For now, neither of them have to say anything.
