holo :: Muse, sing of Hermes, the son of Zeus and Maia, lord of Cyllene and Arcadia rich in flocks

One moment the arrival room is empty and in the next, there's a lean, harmless looking fellow with a look of surprise on his face. He's well-dressed in the sort of causal clothing that hints at money rather than screams it; when on the job, as Hermes had been, it doesn't do to spook the mark. With that in mind, there's a flicker of moment too fast to follow and the golden sickle in his hand disappears.

Seemly filled with nearly boundless energy, he's constantly moving and currently examining his surroundings. The tablet is unusual, but advanced technology can always be explained, but a non-removable bracelet is something spectacular.

"Good morning, good day, and goodness me, could someone, would someone be so kind to tell me where, when, how, and all sorts of other delightful, delicious answers? I'd be ever so, but not eternally so, grateful." Despite looking well fed, there's a well hidden, but occasionally perceptible hunger to him.

"One second, one second-"

Enfys has somewhere to live, now! Which mostly means she's filling her space with lit candles, scarves, weaponry and variously coloured bottles of nail polish. This is an involved process which she is dedicating herself to when she catches sight of the new arrival.

"Wait, okay, hello." ...just...'hello'?

"This is Taxon," she says, in a parody of patience. "We've sort of all been kidnapped by aliens and if you pick up the tablet then the door will open, and it's kind of nuts and makes no real sense, actually, but I've seen worse, right? I'm Enfys."

...her first thought is 'what, like the Hermes, that's ambitious of them', and she scrutinizes him curiously.

And then, because some people really are like that:

"What, like the Hermes? That's ambitious. Of them, I mean! It's a pleasure. It's my pleasure."

Leila has yet to get tired of playing the role of meet-and-greeter; she's good at it, in her opinion, and furthermore it's a useful way of documenting new arrivals, acquiring information on them. This one seems to be handling his arrival with considerable grace, but she does find something notable about him.

"Answers I can do," she says, smiling faintly (reassuringly, ideally) into her tablet, "though you may not like them. You -- along with myself, and many others -- are in a city called Taxon. The 'why' is not so clear, but we have an entire city in which to roam, and most necessities are provided. Now that you've got the tablet, you can leave the room you're in, if you like, but it's important to keep with you--it's quite the useful little communication device."

Leila does well enough, actually, but she is supposed to be a genius, so maybe she's got an advantage there.

"And we would so hate to be confusing. Is there anything else you'd like to know?"

Etherites + god of invention = shenanigans???

"Dr. Leila Yilmaz, but you can call me Leila if you like--it's good to meet you. What should I call you?"

Siri catches that flicker, but even to someone of her talents it's just a bright blur, but a blur that was most assuredly there. And there's a sudden presence in the Force that's just radiating in a way that's near intoxicating.

"Taxon, the date is not exactly specified, and presumably by a means of dimensional transport," she answers, expression one of wonder and confusion.

"I wouldn't necessarily call this situation delightful, but it's not entirely disturbing," she answers. "And who am I to judge the perceptions of someone who is probably from a different world and bases theirs on one I more than likely won't entirely understand."

"Really isn't your department," Siri echoes, a little baffled. Still, she answers the question. "Siri Tachi."

There are a couple of things that attract Godric's attention, other than the boundless energy. The first is the sickle, and the movement that makes it disappear from view. Hermes is too fast to be human, and too obviously magical somehow. The other is that perceptible hunger that Godric picks up on precisely because he's a creature intimately familiar with hunger.

"The where is Taxon, an underground city in an unknown location, the when is unknown, as is the how, and answers are sadly lacking."

He picks up on what he considers the important part of that babbling.

"God? And what kind of god are you?" It's not necessarily that he disbelieves in Hermes's godhood, considering the power Taxon apparently holds, but in his experience there are all manner of gods, and some of them are really just crazy people with delusions of grandeur.

"...The messenger." If what he says is true -- and Godric has no real reason to disbelieve him at the moment -- then Hermes is even older than he is. He's also quite a bit more...eccentric than Godric would have pictured.

"Sweet shiny slippers, you're chipper. Most people turn up and and it's all...shouting and cursing and threatening bodily harm. I-it makes for a nice change."

It really does, and Glitch is grinning happily.

"Ha! Aren't you just," Glitch replied, still beaming away. Here, then, was a man after his own heart. "The name's Glitch, and and I know you just got here but consider yourself invited to this party-thing I'm having in a couple days."

Hey, having entertaining guests was part of...entertaining. Right.

"That's a shame, everyone should get to go to parties," Glitch observed and nodded firmly. "It's for the Sweetheart's Festival- I mean, Valentine's Day. Same thing really. Ah, it's supposed to be a formal ball but I'm not too picky on the dress code."

So long as no one shows up naked, and even then they might get away with it if they pass it off as a cultural thing. Maybe.
