Hercules was not quite planning a big production number. But when he started thinking about what it would be like to actual settle into this place, well... the song in his heart became the song he was singing out loud.

Herc then pauses, having totally diva-ed out during that whole thing.

Really, River thinks that should be very obvious.

Hercules pressed the right button to switch modes and gives River a rather amused smirk.

"Thank you," he says.

River gives him an understanding nod (not everyone can be a genius), and then:

Her voice sounds a little off tune and weak, but there's a guitar accompaniment from somewhere nebulous and unknown followed by very wide eyes once the music fades out again. For the record, she's blaming Herc for this.

"And I also thank you for the serenade," Herc says, still smirking. "It seems the music is infectious."

"Unintentional," she says with absolute seriousness. "Viral infection hiding in quarter notes. And codas. Should see a doctor."

Someone in the city should have a vaccination for this.

"I don't get sick," Hercules points out. "It would be silly to think that it is a virus."

Oh. That's... um. Very nice?

Are you offering your arms, fair-voiced maiden?

My arms?

For my... hero's welcome.

[ Piper laughs. ] You really do have a nice voice, though.

I thank you. But whom am I thanking?

My name's Piper. Piper Halliwell. And yours is...?

I thank you. I have sung more than a few ballads in my time.

Do you usually broadcast them?

Broadcast, no. But to sing without an audience is selfish when one has a voice like me.

[She laughs a little at that.] You're very modest.

I am Hercules. Any modesty would be false.

Desperate how?

Don't take this in a bad way, Hercules, but you really need to get laid.

And what shall you do about that?

Oooh, that's cheeky right there. What makes you think I'd do anything about it?
