Godric is walking leisurely down the street toward Fangtasia when the music swells up around him. He stops and looks around, briefly perplexed before becoming alarmed. Oh no. This glitch has been affecting everyone else, and now it seems it's his turn. Before he can swear, the song rises up in his throat and escapes in an pleasant melody. He wouldn't win American Idol, but he can sing.
We're bound to wait all night
She's bound to run amok
Invested enough in it anyhow,
To each his own
The Garden is sorting out
She curls her lips on a bow
I don't know if you're dead or not
To anyone
Come on and get the minimum
Before you open up your eyes,
This army has so many heads
To analyze...
Come on and get your overdose
Collect it at the borderline
And they want to get up in your head...
At first, the song seems fairly innocuous, the metaphors up to interpretation. And then abruptly, things start hitting too close to home for Godric.
Cause they know and so do I
The high road is hard to find
A detour in your new life
Tell all of your friends goodbye
The dawn to end all nights
That's all we hoped it was
A break from the warfare in your house
To each his own...
A soldier is bailing out
And curled his lips on the barrel
And I don't know if the dead can talk
To anyone...
It's hard not to choke on the words, his expression becoming increasingly disturbed.
Come on and get the minimum
Before you open up your eyes
This army has so many hands
Are you one of us?
Come on and get your overdose
Collect it at the borderline
And they want to get up in your head
Cause they know and so do I
The high road is hard to find
A detour to your new life
Tell all of your friends goodbye
It's too late to change your mind
You let loss be your guide...
It's too late to change your mind
You let loss be your guide...
It's too late to change your mind
You let loss be your guide...
It's too late to change your mind
You let loss be your guide...
As the music fades away, Godric doesn't move. He remains where he stopped, perfectly still. It's impossible to tell what he's thinking.

As the music fades away, Godric doesn't move. He remains where he stopped, perfectly still. It's impossible to tell what he's thinking.
[Here's the song if you'd like to listen.]
[visual]
"I'm fine. Just old sorrows, and maybe some regrets." That's what he assumes, anyway. Explaining his feelings surrounding the extremely touchy subject of his suicide is something he can't even do for himself right now.
[voice]
Would you mind if I came to keep you company?
[visual]
[location: wherever godric happens to be~]
"Hey, baby," Levi says, slipping up beside the much older vampire, giving him a little smile and an affectionate head-pet. He... doesn't mean to do the head-pet, it just happens, but Godric is shorter, and it's just habit.
[location: somewhere in Osten~]
"Hello, Levi." He does brighten some at Levi's company, at least. "How are you?"
no subject
"I'm wonderful," Levi tells Godric with a smile. "I seem to be the only one who finds this musical bug that's going around to be enjoyable."
no subject
"I hear you're working at Fangtasia now?" He looks a little amused at this. Not that there's anything wrong with working for Eric, or working at Fangtasia in general. It's a decent job, and Godric is sure Levi fits right in. Still, there's something funny about the whole situation. Perhaps because Eric's bar is cliche and yes, somewhat cheesy.
no subject
"I am," Levi says brightly. "Oh, I love it there, it's fantastic. I'm still learning the way the drink-mixing works, but other than that, Eric lets me do whatever I wish, within reason."
Besides, he runs his own nightclub back home, so he has no room to talk about cliches.
no subject
It's probably a good thing that Levi isn't a dancer, since Godric does frequent the club on occasion. That's temptation he doesn't need.
no subject
And that's the truth. Eric figured that Levi would be better as eye-candy than bar-tending, and as such, he'd only given Levi some half-assed training as a drink mixer. Levi doesn't mind, though, and it's clear on his face.
The thought that Godric might see him dancing, though... that's a thought that he probably needs to keep to himself.
no subject
"Of course. I should have known." He forces his voice to remain neutral and casual. He thinks of asking after Shane -- he's been worried -- but he's not sure if that's a good idea or a bad idea, in the course of this conversation. While a reminder might serve to keep the both of them in line, Godric has been contemplating the problem that is his and Levi's attraction to one another, and so far the only solution he's come up with is one that directly involves Shane. He's still not sure if it's wise to propose it.

Levi doesn't reply for a moment, watching Godric, expression suddenly different than it had been a moment ago. It's almost like a switch has gone off, like Levi is realizing, again, that there's a reason they usually keep to the tablets.
Of course, when the music starts trickling in this time, a seductive beat, Levi nearly groans and tries to cover his mouth. It... doesn't work, obviously.
"I want you, yeah I want you,
I want you, yeah I want you bad,
So bad I can't think straight,
So bad all my bones shake,
So bad I can't breathe--"
... Oops.

...And then he's on top of Levi, straddling his waist, pinning his hands above his head. The music cuts off abruptly, like a needle scratching across a record, and another beat starts up, this one for Godric. He leans in close, his lips brushing over Levi's earlobe, his jawline, his neck, as he sings.
1, 2, 3
Not only you and me
Got one eighty degrees
And I'm caught in between
Countin'
1, 2, 3
Peter, Paul & Mary
Gettin' down with 3P
Everybody loves ***
To add cruelty to the seduction, Godric actually makes that sound, right into Levi's ear, deeper and more guttural than it would be from Britney Spears, but no less a shot straight to the groin.
Three is a charm
Two is not the same
I don't see the harm
So are you game?
Lets' make a team
Make 'em say my name
Lovin' the extreme
Now are you game?
Are - you in
Livin' in sin is the new thing
Are - you in
I am countin'
His teeth find Levi's earlobe on the last beat, scraping across it slowly, and that's when Godric knows he really, really has to leave, right now, before he does something very regrettable in public.
His idea proposed -- whether he had really intended to propose it or not -- Godric is gone in a flash, leaving Levi to deal with the effects of that little number all on his own. It's only what he deserves after getting Godric all worked up.

The music that cuts into Levi's song is much more heavy, thumping beat, and it only makes the fact that Godric is straddling him, in the middle of the entire city, worse. A little gasp escapes when Godric starts singing, and from there, it's a steady downward spiral.
The noise in the middle of the song takes the cake.
When Godric vanishes like that, Levi lays there for a moment longer before bringing his hands up to cover his face. Oh, God, there-- there are just no words.
He stands up unsteadily, panting, and hurriedly heads home. Poor Shane won't know what hit him.
