[ guess who's now seated at a secluded corner in caritas, with her head on the table and nursing a huge bottle of alcohol on her own.

no, really. guess. ] Oh, who cares about... broody, stupid vamps when I've got you... [ she grabs the bottle and reads: ] Mr. Voodoo Tiki Tequila. Mmm. You're now my new best friend, 'kay?

"...oh god," she whispers, running her hands through her hair and cradling her face afterward. "I didn't even think about Connor. How is he, by the way?" And it's weird that they are practically thinking along the same lines.

"Can't blame the kid, you know. Angel's last glitch lasted that long." Her tone is nonchalant, but there's an undercurrent of real worry, there. "And no. Your violence is good but..." Cordelia doesn't want to see him hurt. No, actually-- "I just... don't want to see him, for as long as this stupid thing lasts, though. Can you, um... do that?" Her last word is a whispered, "Please?"

"Murdering punching bags last I saw, and definitely not happy. Not that any of us are." A small, paranoid voice in the back of his head wants to suggest that maybe Buffy will be happy of this development and glad that Angel's in love with her again and then leave Spike for her, like Drusilla did when Angelus joined them so shortly after the point in time Angel thinks it is. Time for more tequila. Buffy's not like Dru. She wouldn't be that cruel. And Spike's more than an Angel replacement, he's almost sure of it.

"That's what he said. I still think we should wait a little longer before worrying about that happening again." He glances at her when she asks the next part, then nods. "Yeah, sure, I can keep him away." Which will probably also involve violence, but it can be violence somewhere Cordelia isn't.

Buffy must be, a part of her wants to say. But Spike is like Buffy's number one fan and just...

Cordelia sighs. "Good. Him looking so lost and broodier and Buffy-centric is something I don't think I can handle right now."

"No bloody treat for me either," he grumbles. But he'd rather stick close by even so. He doesn't trust Angel at all right now.

"God, jealous much, Spike?" ...which is pot calling the kettle black, but shh!

"That the vampire who got between me and my last girl suddenly has his eyes on the current one again? Maybe a little." That's barely scratching the surface of his jealousy, but he doesn't need to go into it more. Cordelia's got her own Angel issues to work out. He just finishes off the rest of his drink.

She shakes her head. "Only a little? My, Spike. You lie worse than... a not-so-good liar," Cordelia scoffs, raising a brow at him.

"And you're more than a little jealous yourself. And drunk." Speaking of which. Spike snags more tequila from a passing extra.

"Pfft, I'm not drunk. Or jealous. They can have their tiny AngelBuffy miracle babies for all I care." Cordelia signals at the Extra to get her a new bottle, too.

"Also? You're paying for this."

Spike shrugs. He doesn't mind paying. But he does mind thinking about Angel and Buffy getting back together. He glowers into his bottle. "He's not going to take her from me. No bloody way."

"Didn't know Buffy was with you in the first place," she says, rolling her eyes.

He shrugs. "We went on one date. We're taking things slowly. I guess technically she's not with me yet, but she's certainly not with him."

"...you guys went on a date?" Okay, major news there. "So, what. Kirk is just a thing of the past now with her or..."

"I said we're taking it slow, didn't I?" The two of them didn't immediately jump into bed. Compared to last time, that's already pretty slow. He's not going to be her rebound, so that means waiting until he's sure he's the only man on her mind. But he can spend time with her up until then.

"Fine, whatever." Cordelia grabs her bottle and chugs some of it down. "One thing good you can say about this glitch? At least it's one-sided." Pause. "Isn't it?"

"I really hope so." Spike hasn't had a chance to talk to Buffy since it started. If Buffy starts acting moon-eyed over Angel as well... Spike took another drink from his bottle. "This better end soon."

"Finally something we can agree on." She gives him a nice, big, bright fake smile. "Cheers."

He smirks and clinks his bottle against hers. "See? Silver lining. Cheers."
