5% [location: Shelley; Spencer's... beautiful two story home??]
After spending a week in a female body, Spencer had been thrilled to finally wake up as himself again. He was all out of sorts yesterday. He tried to read and work on running his stats of arrivals and departures, but he couldn't concentrate. Around 9 o'clock, he fell into bed.
This morning, he woke to the sensation that there was somebody in bed with him. He nearly fell out of the bed when he realized that it was Beckett. Quietly, so as not to wake her, he had slipped from his room into... a house? His apartment had turned quite suddenly into something that it was not last night. His furniture was now art deco and he had a television - one that he suspected only showed programs in black and white.
Spencer had made his way to the kitchen and brewed a cup of coffee in an ancient looking pot (which somehow worked like it was brand new). Now he stood staring out the large window in the kitchen, clutching his mug of coffee and contemplating the beautiful manicured green lawn in front of him, which stretched to a white picket fence.
He pushed his glasses up his nose and wrapped his robe further around him. Spencer had no idea what to make or this, or what to make of waking up to find Beckett sleeping beside him.
[OOC - This is for Spencer, Kate, River, Ax and Kara to have their family shenanigans. Although, any friendly neighbors who want to stop by are also welcome.]

"I know, I know...you and your weird FBI sleep habits. You want an omelet?"
no subject
He drummed the fingers of one hand on the kitchen table as he sipped coffee from the cup in the other. Spencer was too afraid of saying the wrong thing to say anything at all.
no subject
"Here you are, darling."
no subject
He smiled as he cut into it with his fork.
no subject
"I'm not sure if I should go ahead and make breakfast for the kids, or wait a while. They will probably sleep a while longer."
no subject
"They have school soon.... but why don't you sit down at the table with me? I don't get to spend enough time with you.."
no subject
"This is nice. I like when you get up early..."
She bumped her knee against him with a smile.

As he ate, he glanced up at her sitting next to him, her long hair flowing in messy waves down her back. Spencer had thought it for a long time but now he felt compelled to tell her. He wondered if she would remember that he said.
"I think you're beautiful."
A tiny part of him secretly hoped that she would.
no subject
"My hair's a mess, and I'm not wearing any make-up, but thank you, dear."
no subject
"I always think you're beautiful. Ever since I met you..."
Spencer chewed his eggs.
"Do you remember our first date?"
Spencer did, thanks to the photo album that was sitting on the living room coffee table.
no subject
"Of course I remember. How could I forget? You took me to see The Clock, and then for ice cream sodas. We spent hours discussing Animal Farm, and at the end of the night, you kissed my hand and said someday I'd be your wife."
no subject
"I made good on that promise, didn't I? I still can't believe that such a beautiful girl was interested in a geek like me..."
no subject
"Well, I knew I had to scoop you up before another girl did. You're quite the catch, Doctor Reid."
With another kiss to his temple, she cleared his dishes and moved to the sink.
no subject
"I-I never felt that way..."
His head was spinning as he tried to process what he was feeling. In his mind, he tried to apply logic to this situation and found himself with more questions than answers in the process.

She looked at him over her shoulder as she stood at the sink.
"Want to dry while I wash?"
no subject
He grabbed a towel hanging from the stove and dried each dish as she handed it to him. Spencer felt awkward standing next to her like this. All of these feelings were giving him a headache.
"You know... the boss told me that he won't be needing me until later this afternoon... and I have a bit of a headache, so I might lie back down for a while..."
no subject
"I knew you weren't feeling well."
She took the dish from him and turned him toward the stairs.
"Go on up. I'll bring you an aspirin and some water."
no subject
"Actually, you know, my headache is subsiding... I think I'm going to read in bed for a while..."
He headed up the stairs, hoping that she wouldn't follow him.
no subject
She didn't want to believe it, but he was behaving so strangely. She had to at least rule it out as a possibility. She gave him time to get settled upstairs, then got a glass of water and the bottle of aspirin and walked up to the bedroom. Spencer was sitting up on his side of the bed, immersed in a Time magazine.
"Feeling better?"
no subject
"Oh.. yes, a bit. I think I'll take that aspirin anyway."
He washed the pill down with the glass of water, then smiled at her.
"Thank you, dear."
Spencer went back to his magazine, hoping that she would be satisfied that he was well now.
no subject
"What are you reading?"
no subject
"It's about two British scientists, Watson and Crick, who are proposing that human DNA takes the form of a double helix..."
It was quite fascinating, reading such an early account of DNA, back when they had no idea just how useful it would be.
no subject
"Interesting. You know, the kids won't be up for a while yet...and we're both up early..."
no subject
"W-What are you suggesting?"
He knew exactly what she was suggesting and had no idea how he was going to get out of it.
no subject
"We have some time...and it's been over a week since..."
