Angel's not very good at public relations. He hates dealing with public relations. This is why Cordelia always handled people, and why he had a department to handle that when he was running Wolfram & Hart. Something, however, needs to be said before things get out of line. And if he doesn't say it, who will?

Here goes nothing.

"If we wanted to eat you, we would've already," is probably not the best way to start this, but it's certainly one way to get everyone's attention. "Most of the vampires here in Taxon have been here for a long time, some of us pushing a year, others two. The only evidence you'll find against us can be placed during times when we were glitched. None of us can control that. If anyone's at fault for the things we've done while glitched, it's the hamsters. If we're to be held accountable for those actions, then by that logic, you should be, too, for the things you've done when glitched out of your mind and acting on impulses that you've otherwise got under control.

"I'm not saying that your fear isn't justified or that you don't have reason to be cautious. You do. We're predators, specifically designed to hunt you down. The point is that we don't. Letting paranoia and fear control you is only going to make things worse. We want to survive as much as you do; getting rid of our means of survival is not paying us the same respect we're paying you.

"Many of us have been around a long time. We haven't lived this long by being so stupid as to do what you expect of us. Most worlds have vampires that have gone unnoticed, because we don't get involved or cause trouble... with a few exceptions here and there." Like him, back in the day before that gypsy curse. "Leave us alone and we'll leave you alone. There's no reason to ruin how well we've been cohabitating in Taxon, just because we're all stuck in the same building. If anything, we should be working together to find a way out."

Angel, don't bicker with teenagers. You shook the hanging around tinies habit when you left Sunnydale.

"Considering I was attacked and drained of my blood and left to die, I have every right to have a tone." Quinn is annoyed.

"Did I mention it was unproved, you know me just minding my own business and then the next thing I know - so excuse me if I have a tone."

Have the Quinn Fabray glare Angel.

How he ever kept teenagers as his primary companions when he lived in Sunnydale is beyond him. They've done nothing but irritate him in Taxon, and this girl is no exception.

"I didn't ask, but it was assumed. Not to defend, as what happened to you shouldn't have happened in the first place, but sometimes there is reason behind actions you don't understand. Just because they aren't apparent or within your reach, doesn't mean they're not there."

Quinn can't help but roll her eyes a little. Taxon is lucky she isn't still head Cheerio, and that the Cheerio's aren't here, or that Sue is here.

"Give me one good reason why there could be a reason behind me being attacked," she challenges.

Angel knows the reason. Rose was bitten by a werewolf and is suffering the degenerating side effects as the bite starts to kill her and drive her mad as it does so. He's not going to tell her that though, regardless of whether he feels Quinn deserves the truth or not.

"Glitches. It might not have even been someone who's normally a vampire. Instinct can be overwhelming, especially when you're new. You don't think, you just do."

Quinn purses her lips again. He has a point with the control thing, she guesses anyways. Then again couldn't this be compared to a serial killer claiming insanity, or saying 'God made me do it?'

"They still shouldn't be allowed to get away with it," Quinn says. "The aliens should not be allowed to get away with it either."

"Take it up with the aliens. You can't hold a person who's been glitched and not in control of their actions accountable. Blame the puppeteer, not the puppet."

Or the disease eating away at Rose's mind, but oh, details.

Quinn is about to argue even more, because really, really. So someone isn't in control, she should just ignore the fact that she could have been killed.

"So if they killed me it would be all roses would it? Because oh no they weren't in control of..." Quinn pauses. "You know who it is, don't you?!"

"No, I don't." Angel's a very talented liar. "And if you had been killed, it would've been a tragedy and even more reason for us to find a way to make the aliens stop this, to stop playing with people's lives."

He sighs. "The point is, you didn't. You're alive. I'm sorry for what happened to you, kid, but pointing fingers isn't going to help matters."

Quinn wrinkles her nose. A tragedy. Great. At least it would be keep in tune with the story of her life.

"It's Quinn," she says, because really arguing at this point, really has no point.

Arguing with a very stubborn man who's been stubborn for a very long time is often not worth it.

"Quinn," he repeats, acknowledging her name and filing it away for later use. "I'm Angel."

Quinn tries not to raise an eyebrow at the name. Really, people are really named Angel.

"Hi," she says. Now what? If this was Lima, Quinn would stick with the bitch mode. But no, not Lima. "Maybe you should start a vampire rights group or something."

His name's not really Angel. It's just something he goes by, these days. It's not even Angelus, which is what Angel is short for. Liam, however, is not something he normally gives out. If asked, he'll give it, but not without prompting.

"I wouldn't go that far."

Angel's views on 'vampire rights' are complicated, at best. He's an exception to the rule where he comes from, along with Spike. While the other vampires here are not the inherently evil kind his are, his perceptions and beliefs are rooted in the one he knows best: his own. Back home, fear of vampires is justified and valid, for they are ruthless killers who don't care about their victims. Rights? Not something they should have. His past experience as CEO of Wolfram & Hart only serves to solidify this view.

"For the record I'm not anti-vampire," Quinn says. She's not going to share that the closest thing she has to a friend here is a vampire, until she actually sees something to make her think other-wise she's going to trust Stefan. "Not really...I think."

"It's okay to be," which must sound odd coming from someone both a vampire and who was urging the masses to calm down and at least attempt to find harmony. "You have reason to be."
