[ location: bronte beach ] let that igloo cooler mark your piece of paradise.
Word has it, Taxon, that there's going to be a party. These rumors are not untrue, for one
slaying has arranged something of a get together for the Fourth of July. Unfortunately, the Extras have caught wind of this soirée and are already in the presence of crashing it, rocking those holey jeans and chilling with some Lynyrd Skynyrd and good ol' Hank Williams. This is their kind of party.
Don't let them have all the fun. The sun is getting low, so get on out here and get your party on before fireworks start lighting up the faux night sky.

She digs her toes into the sand and adjusts the knot of her long, beachy-appropriate sarong. And then she confidently joins the social fray, grabbing an iced tea before looking for friends and family to share the fourth with.

He no longer has inherent stealth on his side, but he no longer gives off vampire vibes, either. Not while glitched like this, so he's unsure of whether or not him coming up behind Buffy like this will startle the Slayer or not.

...She has jeans and a wife beater over it, though, so at least the entire world isn't topsy turvy. She's also consuming a bag of chips she stole off a table.
"You invite all the creepy people, or they just gatecrash?" Says the gatecrasher.

Unfortunately, the fact that the Extras were there put a bit of a damper on things, but she could ignore them. When Eowyn got to the sandy shore, she took off her slippers and carried them with her. She walked towards the waves and came up to the more lively people. The ones who looked to be intelligent beings and not zombies anyway. She stopped short next to a red-haired girl she had seen on a video when she had first arrived. She gazed at her, then looked up and stared at everyone else. Why were they so....naked? Eowyn blushed and looked down, finally addressing the young woman close to her.
"Why is it everyone wears so little? Are you not ashamed?"

Tucking her hands into the pockets of her cotton shorts, Brennan gazes at the people milling about curiously. Angela would enjoy a party like this, she suddenly thinks with a touch of wistfulness. So would Booth. Much as Brennan takes comfort in the fact that her friends are back home where they belonged, she still misses them.
On a whim, she takes off her flip-flops and digs her toes into the hot sand, smiling with an almost child-like glee at the sensation. Inhaling the salty air, she straightens and takes a few moments to admire the rolling surf before moving onward.
watching the clouds roll by;
She scans the beach for someone she recognizes, not too keen on standing by idly waiting for someone to talk to her first - or one of the natives to try and converse with her. The Extras still weirded her out. Spotting a familiar face, Liz jogged on over to her. "Dr. Brennan!"

He kicks off his shoes and makes a mad dash for the water, arms pumping, the sand giving under his feet. He wades just deep enough for the waves to lick at ankles, then turns and races back to the hot sand.
[Location]
Long sets about unloading his armful of beach items-- the hatches have been helpful in this regard. There are two folding beach chairs, and an umbrella that is striped with alternate white and a sort of sherbet orange which offends his sensibilities, but beggars may not be choosers. He sets the items up in the sand, well back from the waves. Long doesn't care for water.
The other items the hatches had spat out at him: sunglasses, a straw hat, a towel, a bottle of-- he peers at it-- oh yes-- sunscreen. He knows what it is, even if he's never remotely had need for the stuff.
He'll call Dick over and tell him to put it on in just a bit. For now he settles down into one of the chairs with a paperback book, glancing up to notice other citizens arriving at the beach, and what seems to be more Extras than normal.

Today, he would have fun and try and be the normal teenage boy he allowed most of Taxon to believe he was; get some sun and relax for a change. It was a party, after all.
Stefan selected a spot just shy of the surf and sat down in the sand, clad in a plain white t-shirt and red swim trunks complete with sunglasses and flip-flops. Katherine should be here soon. He just hoped they didn't run into anyone who would take offense to the two of them and potentially cause a scene. The beach was big enough and full of enough people to keep everyone in their separate corners, right?
we'll still have the summer after all;
Clad in a translucent, white cover-up dress over an emerald green halter bikini and her hair pulled back into a messy bun at the nape of her neck, Katherine pushes her dark sunglasses up on the top of her head and scans the crowd for Stefan's familiar form. Spotting him by the shoreline, Katherine grins and slips off her sandals, dangling them from her fingers as she makes her way over barefoot. Dropping her bag and shoes on the sand, she greets him with a smile.
"Hi." Sitting down next to him, Katherine leans over to kiss Stefan on his cheek. "Been waiting for long?"

Hello, girl in a bikini.
It takes Connor several moments of staring before said girl-in-a-bikini registers as Dawn. He himself is wearing a pair of shorts and not much else, aside from a pair of uncharacteristically bright-orange flip-flops and a flimsy tank top to keep himself from burning.
He colors slightly as Dawn approaches, rubbing nervously at the back of his neck.
"H-hey."

you just gotta ignite the light and let it shine; just own the night like the fourth of july
Once dusk falls, Willow starts making her way down to the fireworks area. She's not sure if anyone's going to take notice, but hey, she can summon them all with a rousing first round. Kneeling down, she releases one of the smaller ones, watching it jet up into the night sky with a loud whistle - dimmed by the magic she's got cast around to... prevent hearing damage. This firework left a spiral of red sparkles trailing through the air behind it. Once it was high enough, it exploded into one of the traditional shimmery ones.
The others are much like the normal fireworks from home, but she's managed to spell some to be much better. Some explode into other sparkly figures - there's even a couple of animals and that might just have been a dragon up there - and some make the whole sky light up. It's all perfectly safe and Willow will be camping out by the fireworks stash, setting them off periodically through the evening.
[ ooc: here are the fireworks! if you guys want to treat this as another party thread opportunity, feel free to tag in and amongst each other while observing the fireworks! willow won't tag anyone back here unless you / they specifically call for her, so feel free to mingle and have fun observing the fireworks :3 willow's gone all-out for these, so if you have an idea and want to implement it, go for it! ]

The dragons were singing and the flames reminded her of a burning city. She smiled to herself - a secret smile, filled with mystery and mischief - before wandering off up the beach.
