[ location: bronte beach ] let that igloo cooler mark your piece of paradise.

Word has it, Taxon, that there's going to be a party. These rumors are not untrue, for one [livejournal.com profile] slaying has arranged something of a get together for the Fourth of July. Unfortunately, the Extras have caught wind of this soirée and are already in the presence of crashing it, rocking those holey jeans and chilling with some Lynyrd Skynyrd and good ol' Hank Williams. This is their kind of party.

Don't let them have all the fun. The sun is getting low, so get on out here and get your party on before fireworks start lighting up the faux night sky.

[ it equals Stuff. and possibly Things. either was the heading voer and attention-getting are probably good ideas as Glitch was getting a bit transfixed with staring at the ocean. fauxcean. whatever, he'd never seen one before in his life (that he could remember). so yes, Willow gets a startled but heartfelt smile. ]

Hi! It's... [ he gestured water-ward with his frisbee. ] That's a lot of water.

Yeah. [ she nods, glancing at it. ] Never seen an ocean before?

"I don't think I have," Glitch replied, then formed a circle by waving the frisbee around. "The O.Z.'s got deserts on all sides, and...there's other countries on the other side of them and they're on an ocean but I I don't think I've been there."

He tilted his head and gave her a grin. "Was there an ocean where you're from? There's not one in Kansas."

As if this were news. Yes, he still thinks Kansas is the most sacred and wonderful place in the Otherside.

"Um... kind of?" Willow frowns. She can't really remember the last time she went to a beach - maybe when she was really little with Xander and her parents or something - but she knows it exists kind of around the Sunnydale corner. "I know there's one kinda close to Sunnydale, but the last time I was there..." She shrugs. "It's kinda hard to remember when everything Taxony is getting in the way, too."

Glitch nodded, a bit sadly. "It does make stuff hard to remember. Harder, in my case." He looked back inland, toward the jumble of spires and stuff that made up Taxon. "Sometimes it feels more like home than home does. I I know more people here than I do back in the O.Z."

DG and Cain, of course, but also all his friends whom he'd never have met if he hadn't been brought here.

Willow frowned a little bit at that, but didn't prod. Sometimes memory was just a fickle thing. No one could tell what they would or wouldn't remember. "Yeah... and then people come and go here and it's hard to tell how long o-or everything that happened..."

Every day she was here was just a reminder of how much she missed Tara. But she had to keep strong, had to believe Tara was happy at home without her, had to focus on the city here.

Glitch nodded again and sighed, thinking of names without faces and faceless names and it was all turning intoa blur somewhere on the horizon. Then his face scrunched in distaste and he shook his head.

"Oh, listen to us," he began, almost scolding. "We're both here now, we've got his beautiful...beachy thing, we've got a party and and friends and stuff and we're wasting time being mopey? Pfft!"

He gave her a grin and a wink. "Today'll be a good day, I-I-I'm sure of it."

For a second, Willow blinked in surprise, but then Glitch's words got through her and she let out a laugh that released a lot of tension she hadn't known she'd been holding.

"You're right," she agreed, smiling. "Of course you're right! You're like the most right ever! We're here with friends a-and a party and there'll be fireworks later!"

And careful Glitch! Whether he wanted one or not, he would soon find himself the victim of a Willow hug.

"Today will be the best day."
