[action: location: sanctuary hallways]

Being cooped up in the Sanctuary didn't do Rose any favours. If she was able to go outside the building and escape, then she wouldn't feel this trapped. It also meant that she could feed on the animals in order to satisfy her hunger. Rose still felt sick; she was pale, clammy and her vision was clouded. The pain was beyond unbearable and she knew that it would continue like this until she was put out of her misery.

Opening the door of her room, Rose ventured outside into the hallway and headed towards the kitchen. She knew that there was blood there from keeping an eye on the network and maybe it would be enough for now. To keep her from hurting people. When she got there, she realised that most of it was gone. Letting out a roar of anger, Rose slammed her fist on the counter, cracking it a little before she fell to the ground, willing herself not to think about what was happening to her.

Then she heard something. A voice. It was a little far away from her but it was distinctive.

Katherine.

That bitch.

Rose had wanted to confront her ever since she arrived in Taxon and now she had the opportunity to. Katherine would pay for what she did. She deserved it. Pushing herself up from the floor, Rose headed out of the kitchen, snarling as she did, determined to find the other vampire. Her fangs were bared and she was furious, prowling around the halls of the sanctuary, with one singular goal in mind.

Find Katherine and make her suffer.

Rose was adamant in her search for Katherine, not caring who came across her path. It kept her focused and made it easier for her not to slip into the inevitable madness. She was in so much pain and feral; just like she was back in Mystic Falls when she killed those three people at the high school. Sometimes, she lapsed in and out of hallucinations, seeing things that weren't there as well as hearing them. Rose pushes those thoughts away and continues to look, listening out for any signs of the other vampire.

Little did she know that it was Elena that she was stalking instead.

((ooc: And so begins the second and last part of Rose's glitch! Have fun!))

"I told you, I'm not -"

But it's no good. Elena doesn't know what's wrong with Rose, but there's clearly no reasoning with her right now. So she turns in the other direction and starts running through the halls, as fast as her feet can take her.

She really hopes that that's not the only elevator in the building.

Elena takes those ten seconds for everything they're worth, moving from the hallways into the library on her floor. She zig-zags through the shelves of books, hoping to throw Rose off her trail.

She's stopped for the moment, trying to catch her breath and gather her thoughts. She needs to get out of here, see if she can make it back to the elevator and up a few floors. If that doesn't throw Rose off her trail, maybe it can at least buy her some time.

Elena hears Rose's threat and presses a hand to her mouth, trying to keep herself from sobbing or even breathing too loudly. She's being very quiet, as quiet as she can possibly be, but with a vampire Rose's age, it may not be enough. Her breathing sounds too loud to her, her heartbeat is thundering in her ears, it's almost deafening -

Wait.

Maybe that'll work. Being too quiet, Rose will be lead right to her, but if she makes a lot of noise...maybe she can trick her. Maybe she can get away. There's no one else in the library, aside from her and the vampire, so she can knock things over - maybe a shelf - to make some noise without worrying about hurting someone.

She doesn't try the shelf, not yet. But there is a cart not too far away, and Elena takes a quick look around before standing and running over to it, turning it over and sending it crashing to the ground, spilling books and papers behind as she runs in the other direction.

Elena's made her way back to the elevators at this point, and is waiting as quietly as possible for it to arrive. She's ducked into a doorway while she waits. Come on, come on, come on...

Ding.

The doors slide open and Elena runs inside, desperately hitting the 'door close' button until they shut.

Elena can hear Rose on the other side of the door and screams as she hears Rose trying to pry the door open. She smacks at the console to start the elevator moving, not caring where it takes her as long as it's out of Rose's path. Her mind races as it starts to carry her up, trying to figure out what she can do.

The elevator dings as she figures it out, and she runs out, looking for a place to hide. It's brought her to the floor with the pool, and there aren't a whole lot of options, but there's bound to be somewhere she can hide without detection for a little while.

The elevator couldn't have brought her to a worse floor to avoid making noise - every little sound echoes off the walls, and everything is open so it's hard to find a good hiding place. But Elena's determined to make it out of this alive.

Staying in one place is a terrible idea, Rose is probably already on this floor and will be able to track her by her heartbeat and breathing. She moves along as quietly as possible, and eventually comes across a bin filled with pool toys. Making a lot of noise probably won't work as well this time, but it's the only option she can think of, and so, with some effort, she knocks it over before taking off running again.

Elena keeps running as fast as she can, ducking into different corners and hallways in an attempt to throw her off. But it's not going to work much longer, and she knows it. She comes to the hallway again and goes into the stairway, starting to run upstairs.

And then she trips and hits the floor, crying out in pain as she lands hard on the first landing.

"Rose, please, no - "

But before she can protest any further, Rose's fangs sink into her throat. Elena screams as they pierce her skin, trying to make enough noise that someone will come looking for them. It's her only shot.

Elena has never been bitten like this before, never had this much of her blood drained at once. Someone's always been there to come to her rescue, and there's no one there this time, no one can hear them, no one's rushing up to stop Rose from draining her completely.

I'm going to die.

"Stop," she tries, as loud as she can manage (which isn't very loud at this point). "Rose, stop."
