five | [Location: Levi's Mansion] | got my boots on, the right amount of leather
New Years Eve.
Levi is ready, decked out in his party suit, and a lot of makeup. He's just finished his preparations, and he's sitting in his living room, waiting patiently for Cordelia to arrive, and then the guests. Of course, the party isn't taking place in his living room. That's much too small for such a large event.
He's having a party in his basement.
His basement is huge, and he's decked it out in lights and such that he's hatched. All of it has a New Years theme, somehow; Levi's good at throwing parties, he knows how to decorate. The room is basically like a nightclub. It's dark, but clear of most beams and supports; there are couches and chairs, and a bar to the far end, stocked with just about every type of alcohol imaginable (as well as a few different types of blood). Here and there, there's potted plants and trees in clumps, as well as a giant throne, surrounded by those plants, further along on the back wall. There's also a large stage towards the middle, with a dancing space out in front of it. And right above the stage is a giant clock, which Levi had set up earlier for the countdown later that night.
As for music, he's got a whole playlist, just waiting to be started. It's a huge mix of things, from pop-y dance music to slow songs for the couples. There's a few setlists, of sorts, pinned to the walls and the bar.
It's about ten minutes before the party arrives, and Levi is waiting impatiently.
[[ooc: Vaguely organized planning post here! If there's a song you suggested and you want it to be played, it will be. Just handwave it. So yes! Have fun. :D
EDIT: Subthread labeled for the countdown to midnight is up! Grab your date and tag there for kissy tiemz. :3]

Angel waited until there were more bodies filling the room to approach Cordelia. In true Angel fashion, he came up behind her, seemingly out of nowhere like he had the uncanny ability to do without putting fourth much effort. "White suits you."
What do you know, they match (http://www.d-boreanaz.com/gallery/albums/albums/magazines/us-weekly-2/normal_us-weekly-2-001.jpg). The irony of this is not lost on the vampire who promised her he'd attend Levi's party. And this is him, attending.

"White suits you too, gorgeous."

Angel happily returns that embrace, wrapping his arms around her form for the duration of the hug. He wanted to kiss her, but held back, weary of those in the room who would take the new nature of their relationship as shock (and possibly negatively react, too) and not wanting to take them by surprise like that just yet.
"See? I can wear something that isn't black." ...though as soon as this party was over, he was probably going to go back to his dark hues.
no subject
"Yes, I saw and I am now very much a believer in non-black wearing you." And she will be twining her fingers with his. "By the way, when Mandy plays later tonight? It's your cue to dance with me."
no subject
For now, he's content himself with the holding of her hand, which is innocent enough and easier to excuse as something else should someone ask-- not that he's looking to lie. He's not ashamed of being with Cordelia, only concerned for how others will react and in turn, treat her. Angel doesn't want her to receive any negative attention for being with him, but such may just be unfortunately inevitable.
His eyebrows shot up in surprise. "You added that to the song list? Cor, you didn't have to. I'm well aware of how much in favor Barry Manilow is not with the majority of the population and I don't think that's going to change here."

"Abusing your power? For shame," he teased, though he was appreciative of the gesture and the smile on his face said as much. Angel hadn't smiled this much in a long time-- how odd that he was happier in Taxon than he'd been in the world he belonged in; of course, 'home' lacked several things. Namely her. "Two? Is that a promise?"
no subject
She stepped closer to him, pretending to fix the lapels of his clothes. "Mm-hmm," she practically purred. "You do know what people do at the stroke of midnight, don't you?"
It could very well be their excuse to kiss in public, and she wasn't going to let that opportunity pass.
no subject
"I should've warned Levi," he said teasingly, grinning at her as she fiddled with his shirt. Soon they'd run out of clever guises for touching and being so near to one another, but for the moment, they had plenty to play with that didn't look too conspicuous.
A kiss at midnight, though... Angel's eyes move to where Buffy stood with Kirk. He knew well that the Slayer would be kissing the Captain at the stroke of midnight, but how she would handle seeing him kissing Cordelia? He couldn't say. She'd find out soon enough and who knows, she might not even care and brush it off as a simple midnight kiss or be too into her own thing to notice what he was doing.
He returned his gaze to Cordelia and smiled again. "Kiss at the stroke of twelve. I'm familiar and game if you're okay with the risks."
no subject
And now Cordelia would be moving her hands up and down his arms. God, she couldn't help herself - she just had to touch him somehow. Didn't help that he appeared in white and looked so hot, too, so her resolve to behave herself was pretty much shot by now.
She bit her lip and glanced at Buffy - the more fashionable one, the one with Captain McHotHot. If they were lucky? Maybe they could get away with it. "Very much okay with the risks," she told him. "I mean, a small, brief smack on the lips won't hurt anyone, right?"
no subject
Angel reached up and seized her hands to stop her from doing that. It wasn't that he didn't like it, for he did, it was that he didn't want it to give them away. He wasn't ashamed and didn't care who knew, but he didn't want someone's possible protests and/or outrage to ruin their night or this party in general. Former residents of Sunnydale did know how to cause quite the scene, after all.
Instead of letting go of her, he led her out onto the dance floor just as a slow song started to play, effectively killing two birds with one stone by stealing one of what he hoped was many dances with her and giving her a legitimate excuse to touch him.
"And if it does, at least they'll know. And I want them to know. This isn't something I want to hide."
no subject
But then, to say that she was surprised that he was the one leading her to the dance floor would have been a giant understatement. Not that she was protesting - she had been thinking of ways to lure Angel to dance with her, and Mandy was her most creative excuse, by far.
When he spoke, all she could do was gape at him until he finished. "Really?" Cordelia squeaked, but it was more the principle of the thing. "Because, not that I want to hide this either, but, it's just--kind of nerve-wracking, to be honest."
no subject
Angel could dance, rather well in fact, he just chose not to most of the time. Parties and dancing were things he grew tired of in a different century when he'd been soulless and still Angelus. And the last time he'd danced, it had been at Cordelia's prom and with someone he'd just recently broken up with before he left Sunnydale for good.
He nodded. "I know. I'm...worried about that, too. But, they're going to have to deal. If they can move on, so can we."
no subject
Cordelia sighed and leaned her forehead on his shoulder. "Mmm. This is nice."
