five | [Location: Levi's Mansion] | got my boots on, the right amount of leather

New Years Eve.

Levi is ready, decked out in his party suit, and a lot of makeup. He's just finished his preparations, and he's sitting in his living room, waiting patiently for Cordelia to arrive, and then the guests. Of course, the party isn't taking place in his living room. That's much too small for such a large event.

He's having a party in his basement.

His basement is huge, and he's decked it out in lights and such that he's hatched. All of it has a New Years theme, somehow; Levi's good at throwing parties, he knows how to decorate. The room is basically like a nightclub. It's dark, but clear of most beams and supports; there are couches and chairs, and a bar to the far end, stocked with just about every type of alcohol imaginable (as well as a few different types of blood). Here and there, there's potted plants and trees in clumps, as well as a giant throne, surrounded by those plants, further along on the back wall. There's also a large stage towards the middle, with a dancing space out in front of it. And right above the stage is a giant clock, which Levi had set up earlier for the countdown later that night.

As for music, he's got a whole playlist, just waiting to be started. It's a huge mix of things, from pop-y dance music to slow songs for the couples. There's a few setlists, of sorts, pinned to the walls and the bar.

It's about ten minutes before the party arrives, and Levi is waiting impatiently.

[[ooc: Vaguely organized planning post here! If there's a song you suggested and you want it to be played, it will be. Just handwave it. So yes! Have fun. :D

EDIT: Subthread labeled for the countdown to midnight is up! Grab your date and tag there for kissy tiemz. :3]

"Not as gorgeous as you look," he counters, smiling in approval (and appreciation) of the dress she's donning. "Think I'm the late one. Don't let the drink fool you, I just got here."

"Thank you," she grins, possibly blushing a tiny bit at the compliment. "Oh, that's good, so did I." And this next bit is somewhat conspiratorial, and quite a lot dry amusement. "Think I already managed to piss off our vampire host, too. It might be a personal record."

Kirk throws a somewhat weary look in Levi's direction and clears his throat awkwardly, shifting from one foot to the other. "Yeah, we've met. I think he was...uh, hitting on me."

Wait.

"Vampire? Did not know that. Your type of vampire or the Fangtasia variety?"

Excuse her one moment, she needs to do the jaw-drop thing.

"He was what?" She's not sure whether to laugh or be seriously indignant about this.

"And yes, he's a member of the undead contingent-- not my kind, though. Not Fangtasia kind either, or at least I don't think so. I sort of... messed with him when he arrived. And then he was one of the people I kissed on that glitch, and it's all a little, umm. Complicated. I'm playing nice tonight though, strictly off the job."

"Came on to me," Kirk reiterates, pursing his lips and making a sort of line-face at her jaw-drop. He's detoured from that a bit, however, by her explanation that not only does she not really get along with Levi, but she's kissed him as well. "Yeah, well, I'll be nice. Just not...that nice. To each their own, but no amount of alcohol in the Alpha Quadrant could get me to change teams. Besides, I'm happily taken."

"Wow, you really did just say that." In the battle between amused and indignant, Kirk's line-face helps ensure that amused wins out. With a wry smile, she answers: "Well, I'm glad to hear it." And now she'll be giving him the patented persuasive eyes, as her hand finds his free one. "And how much alcohol exactly could get you to venture out on the dance floor with me? Hypothetically."
