five | [Location: Levi's Mansion] | got my boots on, the right amount of leather

New Years Eve.

Levi is ready, decked out in his party suit, and a lot of makeup. He's just finished his preparations, and he's sitting in his living room, waiting patiently for Cordelia to arrive, and then the guests. Of course, the party isn't taking place in his living room. That's much too small for such a large event.

He's having a party in his basement.

His basement is huge, and he's decked it out in lights and such that he's hatched. All of it has a New Years theme, somehow; Levi's good at throwing parties, he knows how to decorate. The room is basically like a nightclub. It's dark, but clear of most beams and supports; there are couches and chairs, and a bar to the far end, stocked with just about every type of alcohol imaginable (as well as a few different types of blood). Here and there, there's potted plants and trees in clumps, as well as a giant throne, surrounded by those plants, further along on the back wall. There's also a large stage towards the middle, with a dancing space out in front of it. And right above the stage is a giant clock, which Levi had set up earlier for the countdown later that night.

As for music, he's got a whole playlist, just waiting to be started. It's a huge mix of things, from pop-y dance music to slow songs for the couples. There's a few setlists, of sorts, pinned to the walls and the bar.

It's about ten minutes before the party arrives, and Levi is waiting impatiently.

[[ooc: Vaguely organized planning post here! If there's a song you suggested and you want it to be played, it will be. Just handwave it. So yes! Have fun. :D

EDIT: Subthread labeled for the countdown to midnight is up! Grab your date and tag there for kissy tiemz. :3]

She hadn't seen the doctor since their run in before Christmas with the glitching mistletoe, but to someone like the blonde knight, his presence was the closest to overtly familiar as she'd get in this place and though she could've continued to play wallflower all night, she opted to approach him. Siri Tachi wasn't a coward and she certainly didn't hide from that awkward feel in the air. The fact that she was still willing to be around Obi-Wan after what had happened between them was evidence enough of that.

"Doctor."

After the whole glitching mistletoe ignominy with the Jedi Knight, McCoy had made it his resolution to avoid being in that situation again and endeavoured to stay off the streets of Taxon as much as possible; with the exception of coming to and from the castle that the Summers sisters owned and had given them an entire floor to live in. So, to see her at the party after he was essentially blackmailed into attending and wearing that dress, he was lost for words and still a bit flustered about it. However, his annoyance at the glitches overruled the discomfort... after all, they were both adults.

"Tachi."

"It is alright to call me Siri, you know," she told him, hand going to her hip where she patted what was just an empty space devoid of the belt and lightsaber hilt that was usually resting there. She'd left both of those back at her dwelling. "No lightsaber, no rank. No need to be so formal."

Especially since she was trying to relax. She was going to be in Taxon for a while, it seemed. It was time to adapt.

"Well.. all right then, Siri," McCoy said after his eyes had automatically wandered to where she patted her hip, shifting on his feet and crossing his arms over his chest. "You can call me McCoy. No uniform, no rank." He said in reference to the clothes he was wearing tonight which, in hindsight, was probably a bad idea to wear since he was sticking out like a sore thumb in comparison to the formal wear everyone else was wearing tonight.

pathetic short tag is pathetic and short.

"Isn't that your last name?" She arched a brow at him in what was quite possibly amusement.

"It is." McCoy nodded. "My first name is Leonard, although I doubt anyone but Jim actually remembers that. Just go with what you're comfortable with."

/getting caught up on all these backtags.

"Are you not comfortable being called by your first name?"

It was a valid question. Though she felt insistent on the favor being returned, she didn't want to make the doctor uncomfortable in the process if he didn't like being called Leonard. She didn't mind Siri. She preferred it, in fact, to Tachi. Now, Master Tachi, was something she didn't have qualms with, but she was beginning to grow increasingly unsettled by people calling her by a rank that had no meaning here. Someone could be one with the Force and do it's bidding without being a ranking member of the Order, right?

Look at her, thinking like one of the Lost Twenty. What was wrong with her?
