five | [Location: Levi's Mansion] | got my boots on, the right amount of leather

New Years Eve.

Levi is ready, decked out in his party suit, and a lot of makeup. He's just finished his preparations, and he's sitting in his living room, waiting patiently for Cordelia to arrive, and then the guests. Of course, the party isn't taking place in his living room. That's much too small for such a large event.

He's having a party in his basement.

His basement is huge, and he's decked it out in lights and such that he's hatched. All of it has a New Years theme, somehow; Levi's good at throwing parties, he knows how to decorate. The room is basically like a nightclub. It's dark, but clear of most beams and supports; there are couches and chairs, and a bar to the far end, stocked with just about every type of alcohol imaginable (as well as a few different types of blood). Here and there, there's potted plants and trees in clumps, as well as a giant throne, surrounded by those plants, further along on the back wall. There's also a large stage towards the middle, with a dancing space out in front of it. And right above the stage is a giant clock, which Levi had set up earlier for the countdown later that night.

As for music, he's got a whole playlist, just waiting to be started. It's a huge mix of things, from pop-y dance music to slow songs for the couples. There's a few setlists, of sorts, pinned to the walls and the bar.

It's about ten minutes before the party arrives, and Levi is waiting impatiently.

[[ooc: Vaguely organized planning post here! If there's a song you suggested and you want it to be played, it will be. Just handwave it. So yes! Have fun. :D

EDIT: Subthread labeled for the countdown to midnight is up! Grab your date and tag there for kissy tiemz. :3]

Give him a sec, Levi, he'll be more composed in a jiff.

"Everyone could always use more cheer," Glitch replied with a chuckle and tugged on one of his curls. There was a pause, and a frown. "Well. Maybe not like wreaths and and and those berries that make you kiss people. Not that kind of cheer."

Yes, he was blocking that. All of that. A lot.

Glitch had kissed his best friend. Not as traumatic, except that said best friend was twenty years his junior and he'd likely been present at her birth. So awkward.

"Sure!" he replied, and the grin was back. "I mean, fun when I'm not getting smacked around or or made all cheerful for no reason. Un-unless you meant here-here in which case...sure! Good wine, festive company, and interesting music, what more could ya want?"

The thing about the wine doesn't phase him; folks have all sorts of weird habits. Not that it's weird, Glitch is incapable of casting judgment on weirdness. You know. Smile and nod politely was likely the best response.

"I dunno, exactly. A while," he replied and tilted his head in consideration. "Since before it was cloudy all the time...a couple months? M-maybe a bit more than that." It was all blurring, like everything does, but different than it used to. Somehow. "My friend DG's from where I'm from, kinda, and and I've met folks so it's not too bad."

Beats having to save the world, that's for sure.

"Yeah, it was warmer, I think, and there was a sun most of the time." Not the two he was used to but it was better than nothing. "Maybe it'll change back. I hope so, at least, getting kinda tired of the cold."

Talk of friends brought about a brilliant smile. "Lots easier, I don't know what I'd do without DG," he said and shook his head absently. If she hadn't been there to give him a connection to the O.Z., to his past...who knows what he'd have forgotten by now. "But but it's nice, you know, how most folks try and get along. We're all stuck here, there's no point...not getting along."

Optimism: part of a complete breakfast.

Glitch nodded. "Yep! My best friend, I've known her- well, it's complicated. We were apart for a long time." Add in the mutual amnesia and complicated just barely scratched the surface.

And...yes, he was also adjusting to living in a place where he wasn't immediately persecuted. For all Taxon's faults he would always appreciate the lack of pitchforks. Still, he had the zipper to mark him out, Levi looked downright normal so why...

"Your kind? What, um, what kind of...kind is that?"

A startled expression crossed Glitch's face, but he didn't step back. He'd been...warned about vampires, much the same way one was warned about wild animals: they're around, they can hurt you, but only if you give them reason to. Theoretically that's what folks had said about headcases, but he had so many vague memories of getting hassled while he'd been minding his own business to believe that stuck. If only more people had looked past the zipper.

So he opted to look past the fangs. Thus far Levi (and his nice party, and his nifty fashion sense) had given him nothing to be afraid of, and the fangs thingy was actually kinda cool. So here, glampire, have the smile of a scientist who has just made a fascinating discovery.

"I haven't met a vampire yet," he said brightly. Okay he'd met Drusilla but she hadn't TOLD him she was a vampire so that didn't count. "I mean, well, I have now, but you're my first. Vampire. I...I guess that explains the blood at the bar."

He nodded with such enthusiasm that his curls bounced a little, then took to surrepticiously looking around for more vampires. Scientific curiosity, of course, plus it was always good to be aware of one's surroundings, especially in his case where turning around at the wrong moment could utterly disorientate him.

Wait. Conversation, right.

"Oh, you're doing very well," Glitch replied with another nod. "You'd make a good ambadssador, if if you guys ever wanted to set up a...parliment?" Close but not quite. "Ah! Embassy, right. A vampire embassy."

It could go right next to the Superhero Consulate and down the street from the Bureau of non-Earthling Affairs. Yes, the lack of a central government was beginning to bug him.
