New Years Eve.

Levi is ready, decked out in his party suit, and a lot of makeup. He's just finished his preparations, and he's sitting in his living room, waiting patiently for Cordelia to arrive, and then the guests. Of course, the party isn't taking place in his living room. That's much too small for such a large event.

He's having a party in his basement.

His basement is huge, and he's decked it out in lights and such that he's hatched. All of it has a New Years theme, somehow; Levi's good at throwing parties, he knows how to decorate. The room is basically like a nightclub. It's dark, but clear of most beams and supports; there are couches and chairs, and a bar to the far end, stocked with just about every type of alcohol imaginable (as well as a few different types of blood). Here and there, there's potted plants and trees in clumps, as well as a giant throne, surrounded by those plants, further along on the back wall. There's also a large stage towards the middle, with a dancing space out in front of it. And right above the stage is a giant clock, which Levi had set up earlier for the countdown later that night.

As for music, he's got a whole playlist, just waiting to be started. It's a huge mix of things, from pop-y dance music to slow songs for the couples. There's a few setlists, of sorts, pinned to the walls and the bar.

It's about ten minutes before the party arrives, and Levi is waiting impatiently.

Oh, but that suit was just fantastic. He'd fit right in!

As such here was Cordelia, coming straight at you Cam. "Hey there!" she said. "Glad you can make it!"

The guy's face looked familiar. Hmmm.

He still vastly preferred smaller NYE parties, where the dress code was jeans and cheap alcohol. These sorts just reminded him of the formal events the Air Force prodded him into attending from time to time.

The woman who approached him was vaguely familiar, but he wasn't certain how. It was possible she was among those who appeared on the tablet on a semi-daily basis. Those faces had become somewhat familiar without his actually getting to know them.

Or perhaps she hosted this event, and he knew her thusly? Either way, he offered her a pleasant smile. "Thanks. S'a pleasure to be here."

"Oh, you betcha," she replied. "We aim to please for this festive night. Have you met Levi? He's the host for this party. I'm just... part of the welcoming committee, I guess."

He shook his head without hesitation. Honestly, he'd met very few people without clearance to Cheyenne Mountain. It was something he hadn't found particularly unfortunate, given the circumstances.

"Nah, I don't think I've met him. Heard about it from a friend." It was more polite to the self-designated welcoming committee to put it that way, than being coerced into going.

"Oh?" she asked, intrigued. "Who's your friend? Maybe I know him or her." She then chuckled and shook her head before saying, "Although it would be loads better if we actually knew each other first. I'm Cordelia Chase."

He shrugged. The name, too seemed familiar.


"Cameron Mitchell." He offered a hand. "She's Vala." Was there a need for a last name? Vala never went by Mal Doran in his experience, and even if that was her last name as Earth reckoning went, would there really be another 'Vala' in this place?

Regardless. If anyone knew her, even if there were another Vala, he had little doubt they'd know which one he meant. He doubted there was another Vala with her loud personality anywhere.

"Ohh, Vala! Yeah, I know her. We talked all of... once," she admitted sheepishly.

But the identity of the woman stuck to her, since alien people asking her help for Earth clothes? Kinda happened all the freakin' never ever number of times.

"So, Cameron - just make yourself at home, all right? There's an insane amount of booze everywhere, so drink up, mingle and have fun!"

It wouldn't have surprised him if they were friends. Even barring the number of months she'd been around that he hadn't, he'd only been keeping an eye on Vala recently. Who she might have befriended without mentioning to him? Cam had no idea. It didn't particularly concern him.

As it was, he offered the woman a vaguely amused smile and a nod. "I'll be sure to." Well, in the metaphorical sort, anyway. How much actual mingling and drinking he'd be doing was yet to be decided.
